During Transcendental Meditation mind and body gain deep rest, 2 – 3 times deeper than deep sleep, and it is that state of profound rest that is responsible for the wide-ranging physiological and mental benefits: Prevention of disease, promotion of health, decreased stress, promotion of longevity, increased dynamism, clearer thinking, improved mental and emotional balance and many more. All of this can be gained simply by sitting comfortably twice a day, and meditating for 15 to 20 minutes.
